Six T-mobile outlets are currently trialling Bluetooth, and the stores are successfully generating more traffic.
Andrew Coull, director of retail, says, "We see proximity marketing as an innovative and more targeted way of interacting with our customers."
The sales promotion initiative is supported with posters asking customers to enable Bluetooth, before they receive a number of invites, which they then redeem in the stores.
T-mobile has already confirmed the success of the trial, which initially was set to last for four weeks, which suggest that they are likely to be using Bluetooth proximity marketing in the future.
